The main purpose of the Seed Treatment Working Group is to reduce trade barriers of treated seed across the Americas, through the collection of information related to regulation and labeling of seed applied technologies.
The technologies applied on seed to prevent early attacks of pests and disease-causing fungi are part of this group's discussion, as well as how treatments affect the environment, health, safety, and well-being of employees and consumers.
Seed Treatment Working Group promotes uniformity in labeling, as well as legislation protecting workers and promoting the trade and use of professionally treated certified seed of all types of crops planted across the continent.
