The Regional Pilot Plan for the Phytosanitary Certification of Maize Seeds for Propagation and Experimental Purposes is now available
The Regional Pilot Plan was approved during the 108th Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Plant Health Committee (COSAVE) through Resolution 314/108-23D, and is part of the agreement between the SAA and COSAVE to promote the implementation of equivalent and harmonized phytosanitary measures for the exchange of seeds at regional level, in order to improve the public-private articulation carried out by both organizations.
The development of the necessary documents was a joint effort of the SAA and COSAVE, representing an innovative solution by allowing the certification of maize seed shipments destined for experimentation without the need for laboratory analysis, which often results in the destruction of seeds of high genetic value. This not only reduces testing costs and time, but also contributes to effective pest risk management.
The documents that make up the Regional Pilot Plan for the Phytosanitary Certification of Zea mays Seed with intended use for propagation and experimental purposes under a systems approach are available in our RESOURCES section.
